Hello, my name is Andie Steele-Smith
Thanks for stopping by the SayNo2StalkingBlog. I am the principal author of this blog - although a variety of legal, physical security, intelligence, technical security, psychological and stalking experts have contributed in a number of ways.
After my family, friends, staff and I endured - and survived - a concerted 3+ year campaign of stalking, cyberstalking and harassment at the hands of a disgruntled former staff member; I decided to publish this blog and its accompanying website www.sayno2stalking.com
This site is not so much my story, as a summary of some of the things that I have learned throughout this experience. I hope that some of these learnings may help you too. If I help even one other victim - survive and in turn thrive - after escaping the relentless clutches of their stalker, this exercise will have been worthwhile.
Being the target of a self-professed psychopathic stalker from 2008 until 2012 has without a shadow of a doubt been the most challenging, terrifying and bizarre experience of my life to-date.
When I was in my 20's the movie Fatal Attraction seemed bizarre beyond belief. What I now know is that the relentless and obsessive pursuit encapsulated in this movie is an all-too-familiar phenomenon - ie that of the obsessed stalker relentlessly pursuing their prey.
As you will know if you have experienced - whether first or second hand - the impact of a sustained campaign of stalking (or cyberstalking), the emotions, trauma, impact and powerlessness that this movie encapsulated, become all-too-real for the victims of stalking and their family and friends.
I never dreamed in my worst nightmare that I could become the target of a revenge stalker.
Nevertheless despite some hefty scars and pain, I have survived - as God willing you will too.
If you are the victim of stalking or cyberstalking, like me you will likely feel like your life has become an endless streaming horror movie - you know the kind where the evil villain keeps getting killed - and then reappearing yet again.....
Trying to rid your life of an unrequited and totally wanted - [yet for the stalker, deeply intimate relationship] - is an enormous challenge. However you are not alone.
There are fellow survivor, counsellors, criminal justice system members, legal advocates, charities and other professionals whom you can turn to.
I hope that you find this site a useful resource.
Please do let me know if I can be of further assistance either by commenting below or better yet by making direct contact via the contact page on my website www.andrewsteelesmith.com
Remember - stalking is a crime - so whatever you do, don't sit back and do nothing......
